my baby sister's 21!

How time flies...my baby sister turned 21 on 22nd Dec!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHUMANEE GIRL/MEIMEI KHOO! :)

It felt like it was only yesterday...

that I made her eat the ants crawling about in our balcony...

that I coloured her face with magic markers after watching a wayang performance on tv...

that we took piano lessons together...

that we harvested guavas illegally from the HDB estate of our piano teacher...

that she had a crush on some boy band called 5ive (I think! Can't really recall the name)

that I could support her weight with my legs as she did "rock-climbing" on my parent's wardrobe mirror?

When she was still in kindergarden, I remember thinking to myself "How long will she be in there? She seems to be going to kindergarden forever." And now, she's all grown up. What happened to the kuku glasses that were so huge, they kept sliding down her nose when she perspired? Or that squinty-eyed funny frown she gave when mimi or papa asked her to smile for the camera?

Now, she's a fashionista working for one of the leading shopping centres in Orchard Road! With an adorable taste in clothes :) So much so, I sometimes wear her outfits (imitation is the greatest form of flattery ma) only to return them with her screaming, "You beeeetch! You streeetched it!" Yea, I'm the fatter of the lot. She's always been petite. When she was in secondary school, people often mistook her for a primary school student. haha but definitely not now :)

I'm proud of my little sis. Like how she handles the pressure at work, all that long hours, diva co-workers, but at the same time, still managing to look so good! haha...and keep her sanity.
