wah si lim lau peh

Alibaba
[verb] eating snake: I don't know where she go, I think must be go and alibaba again.
[verb] to steal: My pen kena alibaba by other people.
[ajd] to describe someone who is lazy: He damn alibaba one, everything last minute then do.

The Ah Beng threatened," Khookhoo, you alibaba queen, when you go and alibaba later on, I will change your wallpaper. See if you dare to alibaba!". It'll take more than just verbal threats to stop me from having my coffee break (harlow, there was no work to be done!) with the Incredible Bulk. hehe. Sometimes you *just* need some outside air...no matter how polluted! x(

Needless to say by the time I got back, my wallpaper was splashed with arglified pictures of alibaba, specially captioned with "me is alibaba queen".

He'd been doing this for a couple of times and this time, I wasn't gonna take it lying down so...I decided to beng-nify his pc! :) Being an ah beng through and through, his daily vocab is peppered with vulgarities of the Hokkien kind. It would only make sense if his pc "spoke" his language, no?

At home, the search for hokkien audio files began. I tried to google them by typing "nabeh hokkien audio files" . Nothing . Zilch. The only decent thing I could get off the net was Power 98's hokkien spoof of Star Wars, but that was good enough oredi. After a few tweaks here and there, the "wah si lim lau peh" file came into existence! Click here for the spoof file!

The next day, when the ah beng went for his smoking break, I rolled over to his desk and uploaded the new audio files for his new sound scheme. I even increased the volume of his pc, just in case he'd miss it :) So whenever an error occurs, his pc would go "wah si lim lau peh" (I am your old father), or when he shuts down, "lee tan ku ku ah!" (you wait long long!) would play :) Man, I couldn't stop laughing to myself. hehe

Too bad I missed the moment he discovered it :P Yea, you guessed it. I was out alibaba-ing. According to first-hand witness accounts, the ah beng wasn't quite sure what was happening to his pc. He thought he kena-ed a virus! And when he realized, he went "KANINABEH!"

Ahh...the sweet smell of victory.
